Methodist Church energy prices
Make sure you check our Methodist Church energy prices before deciding on your next contract. An experienced energy consultant, we have access to a large range of energy prices and tariffs.
We aren’t limited to a few energy suppliers – we work with over 20. And we stick to what we know, which is energy and water. We don’t provide photocopiers or furniture.
Importantly, we consistently get churches better energy prices than typical church buying groups. And – according to our customers who have used both – much better customer service.

“Setting up new gas and electricity contracts and then renewing them is a bit of a minefield. However, Kevan at Perfect Clarity leads you through this minefield to help ensure you get the best deal for your particular circumstances.”

Methodist church energy prices
We repeatedly provide our churches with lower energy prices than they are able to access through other means. This is through our hard work and knowledge of the UK energy market.
As mentioned above, we will check prices from over 20 energy companies for your Methodist church. We have relationships with all the well-known suppliers, and many you may not have come across previously. This is because the majority of energy companies choose to supply either commercial (which includes Methodist churches) or domestic premises. Only a handful have a licence for both commercial and domestic energy.
As I’m sure you are aware, energy prices are driven by many factors, notable your location in the country – the electricity region your church is located within.
At the time of writing, in early 2020, a Methodist church in London or the south east could be looking at less than 12p per kWh. This would be a 12-month contract. Regions in the UK with a higher energy cost (mainly due to distribution charges incurred by the energy companies), this could increase to around 13.5p per kWh.
A word on our customer service
An unprecedented number of ‘brokers’ are popping up all over the country. Standard procedure for many of these agencies is to set up your church energy and leave you it. They will, of course, be back in touch at renewal so they can earn their fee again.
Our churches tell us that other, church focused groups, are slow to respond. And can’t often provide energy prices until weeks in the future
At Perfect Clarity, we operate in a more professional manner and look after our clients. We price the same day as your enquiry, unless it is later in the day, when we will certainly have options to you the following morning. This can then be refreshed numerous time (prices change frequently) as necessary.
And it doesn’t end there. We will ask you for opening meter readings, check your first invoice to ensure the supplier in question has set up your account correctly. VAT also needs to be addressed. We will send you a VAT certificate to complete from your energy supplier to ensure you pay the reduced rate (presuming the church qualifies of course, which it should). [You can read further notes on church VAT here]
And is still doesn’t end there. We are available throughout your church contract if you have any questions about a bill, meter readings, or anything else relating to your energy supply. Our church clients find this invaluable. They simply send us an email or call us, and we look into your issue and resolve it with the supplier.
Green energy for Methodist churches
When we send you a list of options for your Methodist church energy prices, we will ensure there are green energy prices included.
Again, ‘all we do’ is work on energy prices all day. Thanks to this, we have access to green energy prices from a range of suppliers. This includes green prices from companies that don’t actually push this option to their customers in general.
Different energy companies are more competitive at different levels of energy use. You can see, therefore, the clear benefit of having green energy prices from a range of different suppliers. We will have a very good green energy option for your Methodist church, no matter how much gas and electricity the church uses.
So how much does green energy cost?
The ‘green premium’ used to be quite substantial. This has all changed, however, thanks to major investment in renewable electricity generation.
There are many green options available for your Methodist church that are lower than a great deal of standard energy tariffs from other suppliers. In fact, depending on the movement of wholesale energy prices, a green energy price can actually be the best available on a given day!
Church finances can, of course, be tight. Hopefully the option of having a discussion about green energy is more viable than it once was.
We can also provide ‘green’ gas from some energy suppliers. The breakdown of is roughly 10% from biomethane and the rest fossil fuel gas. The fossil fuel percentage is countered by investing in carbon reduction schemes. Because of this, ‘green’ gas can still be a little more expensive than traditional fossil fuel gas.
