Your Bridge Club energy contract
Talk to the energy experts.
Should you choose a large, well known company or a smaller supplier? How long should you fix prices for? What type of electricity meter do you have? What price you should be paying for your electricity and gas?
We work with 20-30 energy suppliers (there are the occasional mergers). And have saved clubs money on their energy contracts since 2012. Talk to us today.
Bridge Club energy contract, getting a good price
We work with Bridge Clubs up and down the UK. This can start with an initial enquiry about getting the best electricity or gas prices for their Bridge Club. Or they may have a query about a contract that was previously agreed with a supplier or perhaps a broker.
For a question about prices, we will look at rates from suitable energy companies we work with (more than 20 suppliers). Not all these suppliers will match your sector or consumption level. This includes the larger suppliers you will be familiar with from the domestic energy market, as well as many others.
Incidentally, the majority of energy companies in the commercial sector, only supply energy to commercial (non-domestic) premises. Therefore, you may not have previously heard of some of the suppliers we may recommend for your next Bridge Club energy contract. We only recommend reputable suppliers, there are several commercial energy suppliers we refuse to work with.
We present these prices to you in a PDF price sheet. For each contract term (12, 24 or 36 months), we will list:
Our best available price
Our renewal price from your current energy supplier*
A green electricity option as well, in case this is of interest
* Our prices are often lower than suppliers give you directly. We give you this price, as you may prefer we renew with your current supplier if their prices are competitive, but not necessarily the cheapest option.
Bridge Club energy contract, how long to fix prices for?
We will provide options for 12, 24, and 36 months fixed price contracts. However, there are also 48- and 60-month contracts available.
We very rarely recommend these longer contracts. 4-5 years is a very long time to commit to.
While the general price curve of gas and electricity is a gradual increase over time, there are noticeable falls in price from time to time. These are impossible to predict, as they are often due to a perfect storm of 2-3 world events that again, are impossible to see coming.
Committing your club to such a long contract, means you are tied in for so long you may not be able to take advantage of any falls in market prices when your contract does eventually finish.
Don’t wait until the last minute to renew your energy contract
Most Bridge Clubs (and other organisations) will wait until they receive the renewal letter from their current gas or electricity supplier, before thinking about the next contract. This letter will outline the current energy rates, the variable rate they will be moved to if they don’t agree a new contract, and the new contract offer price.
If you have received this letter, it isn’t a problem. Simply call one of our experts on 020 3372 6517 and we will check prices from our suppliers.
However, thanks to our relationships with energy companies, they allow us to confirm the prices for your next energy contract, up to 12 months before the start date. This helps us to be responsive and contact our customers when prices are looking favourable, so they can save money.
The start date will be the day after your current contract ends. Understandably, 12 months is too far ahead for most organisations to confirm their next contract. We generally contact our customers around 6 months before their contracts finish, and this is a more acceptable timeframe for most.
When energy prices are rising (outside your fixed price contract), the earlier you confirm prices for the next contract, the more money you will usually save.
Of course, if market prices are falling, we advise waiting longer to get the best possible price before committing to a contract.
